The Argentine Climate Action Alliance (AACA) Participated in the Federal Meeting on the Path to COP30 in Entre Ríos
The Argentine Climate Action Alliance (AACA) concluded its participation in the Federal Meeting “Path to COP30,” held in Paraná, consolidating its key role in driving an articulated climate response from territories and civil society.
The event was organized by the Argentine Green Alliance (AVA), which brings together the provinces of Córdoba, Entre Ríos, Jujuy, La Pampa, Misiones, and Santa Fe. The Meeting established itself as the main subnational forum for coordinating joint strategies in preparation for the Conference of the Parties (COP30) to be held in Belém do Pará, Brazil.
AACA: Bringing the voice of civil society to the federal agenda
The AACA delegation actively participated in multiple discussion panels, contributing the vision and experience of civil society organizations (CSOs), academia, provincial governments, and the private sector in implementing concrete local actions.
The Alliance emphasized the need for shared and federal leadership to address the climate crisis, ensuring that subnational priorities are heard at the international level.
AACA member organizations had prominent participation in key panels, including:
- “The path to Belém from the perspective of Civil Society,” where the roadmap for Argentine society ahead of COP30 was outlined.
- “Central dialogue: the synergy of cooperation and climate finance,” addressing the challenges of accessing resources for territories.
- “Ecosystems, biodiversity, and nature-based solutions,” a crucial topic leading up to the Amazonian COP30.
- “Federal energy transition” and “Challenges and opportunities for agriculture and livestock,” focusing on productive sectors and the country’s energy matrix.
The Paraná Declaration: A key consensus
The meeting culminated with the signing of the Paraná Declaration, a programmatic document intended for the provinces to speak with “one voice at COP30.”
The AACA celebrates this consensus and underscores the importance of intersectoral collaboration. The broad participation of governments, international cooperation bodies, the banking sector (Grupo Petersen, Genesis), and various civil society organizations demonstrates that Argentina’s commitment to sustainability is cross-cutting and ready to scale up on the global agenda.
